He Died For Us In Public, So We Must Live For Him Publicly

Christ wasn’t beaten for us to only praise Him on Sunday and then ignore Him throughout the week. Christ wasn’t mocked, spit on, and chained up for us to deny Him in front of people who will forget our names in the long run. Christ didn’t die for us to have a relationship on our terms. Christ didn’t die for any of those reasons, and many people need a wake up call.

A relationship isn’t just a “one way street.” If you aren’t willing to give your all for Christ, then you might as well not follow Him at all, for Christ wants all of you and not just parts of you. Many people fail to see the mercy and the grace that Christ shed for us, so this is why so many people are disconnected from the Word. If you would sit down and ponder on the mercy that Christ gave you, you would be in tears, conviction, and you would go out and profess His name to anyone who was able to understand.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Romans 1:16

The gospel has the power to save everyone, so we shouldn’t be be ashamed of that. Why should we be ashamed of the very thing that can set people free? When you silence your faith, you are hindering the unsaved from learning about Jesus. How do you expect to be a witness when you are ashamed of the very man who saved your soul?

“Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.” 1 Peter 4:16

Many people are afraid to be open about their faith due to the suffering that comes with it, but that shouldn’t be a reason to be afraid. In the end, Jesus will win, so with that knowledge, we shouldn’t fear what others may or may not do. When we suffer, we should glorify the Lord, for we know that He is pleased with us. Instead of going with the status quo, we followed Christ and weren’t ashamed of it, which is something to praise God over!

As we are now diving into the month of April, we should set this as our new goal. If you were having trouble with living for Christ publicly, then it is not too late to ask God for forgiveness and to turn around. Now is the time to live for Christ, now is the time to live boldly, and now is the time to live publicly for Him. It may come with daggers from the world, but with Christ, you have nothing to fear! Therefore, as Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday approaches us, make an effort to spread more about Christ, for many people in this world are in need of Jesus!
