We’ve all seen people with Instagram Bio’s with the phrase “avid dreamer,” and we’ve all heard of people who only sit around dreaming of “what if,” but I often wonder in my mind about the concept of dreaming. Though we dream about the plan that we feel God leading us too, we should not stay in the dream phase, but rather move on to executing the plan. When you have a vision, you go after it, but you do not sit there and continue to visualize it. When one sits around dreaming instead of doing, their dreams do not become a reality.
“In all labor there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:23
When you work hard, there is profit, and when you put in the effort, you will see results. Sitting around dreaming and talking when you aren’t working or planning for your goal brings poverty. Talking is one thing, but when you have the initiative to execute the plan, you will results.
“Do all things without complaining and disputing,” Philippians 2:14
We all have people who will try to argue God’s plan for our lives. People will try to criticize your passions and try and argue that what you are working for is useless, but what they say does not compare to what God has in-store for you. Though people are reluctant to agree with you, continue to work without complaining or retaliation. For in the end, God will make all things work out for our good, and no one will be able to mock His plan!
“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;
But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.” Proverbs 13:4
A lazy person desires and conjures up multiple dreams of what they want, but end up with nothing due to the lack of hard work and diligence. Those who are diligent will be made rich. If you know God is leading you down a path, work for it and be diligent! Think and pray of things you need to do to in order to get there! Pray for a game plan, and when He answers you and opens doors, you continue work and obtain diligence!
There is nothing wrong with having a dream, but it is wrong not to work for that dream or put in the effort to follow God’s plan for your life! If you dream about being a doctor, then work to become a doctor! If you dream to be a lawyer, then work to become a lawyer. If you continuously feel a passion for that area, then work for it! Dreams aren’t reality and they do not become reality on their own. It takes God, hard work, and dedication for that dream to come to life, so instead of siting around dreaming of “what if,” go out and do it, for God will mold you and lead you to where He wants you to be when you are hard at work and being diligent!
