We Should Have A Joyful and Thankful Heart For Christ Thought We Were Worth Dying For

As I was writing last night, I remembered a conversation I had with a person a year ago. This memory hit my mind, but then it instantly made me write this particular blog post today. A year ago, a girl came up to me and asked “How are you so joyful? Where do you get all of your joy? How can you have that much joy?” I told her that my joy comes from the Lord for when I think of all that my Savior has done for me, I am filled with happiness and joy.

She ended up rolling her eyes and walking away, but it is true. My joy and happiness comes from Christ. There isn’t a moment where I am not smiling! Though I may find myself in tough situations and hard times, I can find joy in Christ, for no one can take away my relationship with Him!

“For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Though we may weep through the night, joy will come in the morning. Our troubles aren’t permanent, so why are we going to let those troubles take away our joy? I know it can be hard at times to stay positive and remain joyful in all situations, but when we make it a habit of remembering what Christ has done for us, it will come much easier for us.

How can one not feel love and thankfulness for Christ when they think of His grace? Who can’t be joyous when they know that they are no longer to bondage? When we have these thoughts and realities in our minds when we go through problems, we will keep our joy and not let our troubles bring pessimism or sadness.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

God will fill us with joy and peace for we believe! We accepted His son and we denied the world, which means we are filled with indescribable joy and peace! We shouldn’t be afraid or worried about what is happening in the world for we have Christ on our side, nor should we worry about who attacks us, belittles us, or hurts us, for Christ loves us! Find joy in your faith, for you are considered blessed for you believed when you couldn’t see Him.

“This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

God woke you up this morning, which is a reason to rejoice! So many people do not get the chance to live another day, yet He gave you another breath to breathe, so instead of feeling down, have joy in the thought that He is looking out for you and will always be there for you.

 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Jesus said He will never leave us or forsake us! While those around us may up and leave, He never will! He will always be there, which should bring you so much joy! You have someone to talk to at all times no matter when or where.

In conclusion, how could I not be joyous all the time? Christ gave us salvation, He defeated the grave, He is always there, He love us, and He thought we were worth dying for! His mercy gives me a reason to rejoice, for I know I do not deserve it! I walk around in joy for I am thankful for His grace, and hopefully you do too! We do not deserve His love or His grace, yet He still gave us grace, and for that I am forever grateful! This world may be harsh and cold, but they can never take away the joy that Christ has placed in my heart, so the next time the world tries to drag you down, just find joy in Christ, for that is something society can never take away.
